Discipleship Pathway

Discipleship Pathway

At Mission Church Mount Olive, we see discipleship as a simple, lifelong journey of responding to the gospel together. We describe that journey in three interconnected movements—Seeking, Belonging, and Growing—that shape how we follow Jesus in everyday life.

SEEKING

Discipleship begins with seeking. We believe God sends His people into everyday life—where we live, work, and play—to lovingly bear witness to Jesus Christ. Through intentional hospitality, personal relationships, community engagement, and weekly gathered worship, we seek to saturate our community with the gospel so that every man, woman, and child has the opportunity to see, hear, and respond to the good news of Christ.

BELONGING

As people respond to the gospel, discipleship deepens through belonging. We want every person to first understand that through faith in Jesus, they belong to Christ—and because they belong to Him, they are welcomed into His redeemed community, the church. From there, we invite individuals to connect and commit to Mission Church through meaningful relationships, covenant membership, and shared mission. Through foundational training that emphasizes our identity as people who are loved by God and sent by Him, believers are rooted in the life of the church and commissioned to walk together as a spiritual family.

GROWING

Discipleship continues through lifelong growing in Christ. We encourage intentional spiritual formation through self-assessment, life groups, one-to-one Bible reading, service and mission teams, and EQUIP classes. Our aim is holistic growth—deepening gospel maturity, discovering God-given gifts for ministry, and faithfully multiplying disciples—all empowered by the Holy Spirit for the glory of God and the good of others.
