Our Four Commitments
At Mission Church Mount Olive, we believe disciples are loved and sent to the glory of God. Everything we do flows from the grace we have received in Jesus, not from pressure to perform. In response, our members commit themselves to four shared commitments—Mission, Maturity, Ministry, and Multiplication—that shape how we personally follow Christ in everyday life. These commitments describe the faithful practices each member embraces as a loving response to the gospel, forming the foundation for how we live together as a church family.
COMMIT TO THE MISSION
Scripture: Matthew 28:18–20; Matthew 16:18
Because we are deeply loved by Jesus, we commit to His mission of making disciples. Jesus created His Church, promised to build it, and commissioned it to go into the world with the gospel. As those who have received grace, we live sent—sharing the good news of Christ, baptizing believers, and teaching one another to obey all that He has commanded, trusting Him to build His Church through ordinary faithfulness.
Because we are loved by Christ, we live sent to make disciples.
COMMIT TO MATURITY
Scripture: Luke 2:40; Hebrews 5:12–14
Because we are loved children of God, we commit to growing in spiritual maturity. Just as living things grow, disciples of Jesus are called to grow in wisdom, discernment, and godliness. Through God’s Word, prayer, spiritual disciplines, and life together in the church, we seek steady, lifelong formation so that our faith is deepened and our lives increasingly reflect Christ.
Because we are loved by God, we pursue lifelong growth in Christ.
COMMIT TO MINISTRY
Scripture: Mark 10:45; 1 Peter 4:10; Ephesians 4:11–16
Because we are loved and gifted by God, we commit to serving one another in love. Jesus came not to be served but to serve, and He calls His people to follow His example. Every believer is entrusted with gifts to build up the body of Christ. As those who are sent, we serve faithfully—both within the church and in everyday life—so that the church is strengthened and Christ is made known.
Because we are loved and gifted by God, we serve others for His glory.
COMMIT TO MULTIPLY
Scripture: Matthew 25:14–30; 2 Timothy 2:1–2
Because we are loved and entrusted by God, we commit to faithful multiplication. All that we have—our time, talents, resources, and lives—belongs to the Lord and is meant to be stewarded for His glory. As those who live sent, we seek to multiply disciples, develop leaders, and strengthen and plant churches, trusting God to bring fruit in His time as we remain faithful.
Because we are loved and entrusted by God, we live to multiply what He has given.
